Pump and Circumstance

Shoes for Lovely People Debuts

wouldn't it be lovely?

Those who do not learn history are condemned to repeat it.

Which isn’t a bad thing in the case of Shoes for Lovely People, a new collection that spans the ages (of footwear).

The line includes an assortment of styles — conical heels, mini cork wedges, pumps, satin flats, and boots — that would otherwise take decades to accumulate.

When you’re feeling all ’30s femme fatale, look for Marilyn, a black suede heel with leaf detailing. For ’40s glamour, slip on Ethel, the ever-elusive black patent pump. For ’50s prep, make a move for Bobby, a wedge with a leather toe. Go-go with simple Grace, a ’60s ballet flat. The ’80s electro in you calls for the bright blue suede Niki or the Agnes ankle bootie in maroon with gold rivets.

It’s modern construction with good, old-fashioned roots — and prices that start around $100.

Now that’s worth repeating.
