Pop It Open
D.O.C. Wine Shop Opens (for NYE)

It’s dangerous when a wine store has you drunk with excitement before you’ve walked through the door.
But with an interior that feels like the drawing room of an Italian villa and a selection of proper and potent intoxicants, D.O.C. Wine Shop has us willing to take the risk.
The new Brooklyn boutique sells sparkling reds and subtle semidanos, as well as vintaged batch gin, almighty absinthe, and deliriously good methods for imbibing on this very boozy evening. To wit:
Mighty Mirt-ini
Ingredients
½ oz. grappa
1 oz. Villa de Varda vodka
1 ½ oz. Martini Rosso
2 oz. Argiolas Tremontis Mirto (Sardinian liqueur made from myrtle berries — prized for potency and healing properties, so you can prevent your hangover while you pursue it)
1. Pour ingredients into an ice-filled shaker.
2. Stir gently.
3. Strain into a martini glass.
4. Toast to the world.
