On Your Mark, Recette, Go

Recette Private Dining Party

oh yum!

A great meal is like a great kiss. There must be passion, skill, and intrigue — or it’s not worth remembering.

You’ll be delighted to lock proverbial lips with Recette, a new private dining party that you won’t find in a restaurant (it’s in a bakery after hours) or near the usual eating haunts (it’s in Spanish Harlem). They prepare one meal a week (for now) for one private party (hopefully yours).

A talented trio (Savoy Bakery owner Brian Ghaw, Gordon Ramsay protégé Jesse Schenker, and Per Se pastry alum Christina Lee) cook up the storm on the sly: five-, seven-, or ten-course tasting menus of delicate hamachi toro with porcini gelee and baby artichoke tortellini with diver scallops and sweet peas.

Exposed brick walls and candlelight help set the mood. BYOB or let their sommelier make selections for each course.

Call ahead, as timing will be everything.

Read these lips.

Recette, 170 East 110th Street, at Lexington Avenue (347-263-7277 or recettenyc.com).
