While every wedding, from large 'n grand to simple 'n cozy has elements of choreography and design, the event itself is not theater, but, a spiritually uplifting experience for the congregational gathering, whether they are assembled in a barn on the family farm or a destination spot or a House of Worship. The day's events may indeed be described as theatrical; but, dear friends it's not theater. In the same way that heart surgery may be dramatic and theatrical when viewed for the observation gallery, the patient and family along with medical team would speak of it as lifesaving. So, to is a good wedding life saving and life affirming. The central cathartic dramatic experience is the ceremony. It is here that clergy are like spiritual mirrors because they reflect to the assembled circle of family and friend the spiritual sensibilities and values of the couple in such a way as to make sure that all those present feel called upon to make their own pledge of support in response to witnessing the couple exchange their own vows. It is a powerful process requiring the facilitation of clergy. Would that couples spent as much effort finding clergy to support them not only for the wedding but for that marriage as they spend finding a journalistic photographer or lighting designer or ketubah artist. The ceremony is, like heart surgery, relatively short with long-term benefits, the purpose of which is to empower the couple's future. May each couple be ever grateful for the union of their lives. May the wedding details be a joyous reflection of the happy anticipation of their shared sacred journey which the clergy articulate in a manner which when best done is forever remembered and cherished. Mazel tov and congratulations. This website lacks what's most important: The How To's of Finding Clergy Officiation.

I actually used an amazing wedding planner last year! The company is Lady Liberty Catering and Event Planning. They do events for JLo and Beyonce but you would never even know. Totally down to earth and worked to stay in my budget. She event gave me her event planner discount in some areas! I recommend her to everyone I meet for weddings, dinner parties, birthdays or just to not have to worry about my next soiree. Good luck ladies!!

I have to agree with everyone else - this is not helpful at all. I'm having a short engagement and could use a lot of help/advice, and was looking forward to seeing what Daily Candy has to offer. A link to Amazon to yet another wedding guide is below your standard. I already know how Google works! I was hoping for some actual guidance!

Seriously I agree with the first comment...I wanted to read about Jo Gartin and the link just sent me to Amazon to buy her book. Where is the info?

So this is the big February launch for your Wedding channel? As a bride-to-be and (former) fan of Daily Candy, I'm disappointed. It's really just a bunch of ads, arranged by gallery. I don't get the feeling that you've done careful hunting, editing, categorizing or prioritizing (by wedding price range, style, location, etc). Are you concerned with what brides would actually be using this site for, or just about paying bills? I'm a bride-to-be and I used to love Daily Candy but this has turned me off from the site. Too bad.

Rabbi Green is right. I just moved to LA from DC and have no idea how to find a Justice of the Peace!
