BBQ & Bluegrass Sunday Supper

What: Treat your old man to a hearty meal ($40) of gumbo, baby back ribs, and London broil backed by TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb’s acoustic tunes.
Why: Served family style, so Pops can scarf a second helping of peach cobbler.

What: A trip to the Philadelphia Zoo gets all grown up with presentations by vino aficionados, menu pairings, and a stroll through the grounds.
Why: Designated drivers get in on the fun for just $40.
When: Sat., 5:30-8 p.m.

Balayage at the Bowl

What: For the just-got-back-from-vacation look (no one has to know that you barely leave the office), have a few sun-kissed streaks painted on while you’re seated at the wash bowl ($65 and up).
Why: It’s an affordable pick-me-up in between your usual highlights.

The Awesome Fest

What: Catch free outdoor screenings of little-seen movies (Super, Beauty Day, Convento) that made the independent festival circuit rounds.
Why: Directors drop by to chat about their work.
