What: Performances by musicians, poets, and fire twirlers inside the mosaic landmark.
Why: Vendors line South Street to make it an epic block party.

What: Ice pops in a rotating selection of natural flavors (pineapple-cilantro, watermelon-basil, lavender-lemon) do a bang-up job of cooling you down. No ass-kicking workout required.
Why: Made with farm-fresh produce and a drop of agave, they’re a lot healthier than a creamsicle.

Music in the Park
What: Pack lawn chairs or a blanket, and then sit back for Railroad Fever’s show of twangy tunes.
Why: South Philly Food Co-Op puts on a taste test of local and organic vs. conventional fruits and veggies. Can you tell the difference, Miss Picky Pants?
When: Tonight, 7 p.m.
Where: Gold Star Park, Wharton St., b/t S. Sixth & Seventh Sts. Participation is free.
Ale & Arts Walking Adventure
What: Meander the streets with a guide, who will tell you all about the murals on and around some of the city’s favorite watering holes.
Why: Pit stops for beer along the way.
When: Thru Sept. 1. Thurs., 5:30-8 p.m.
