Presents for Mom were simple when you were her little angel. (Remember the waterworks over the popsicle stick coasters?) Let us make it as easy as first grade again.
Spice It Up
A sprinkle of Beautiful Briny Sea’s small-batch, locally made sea salts in rosemary, lavender, truffle (swoon), or pink peppercorn puts a spin on her beloved dishes (available at Young Blood Gallery and The Beehive). Show her she’s the jam with One Screw Loose specialty jellies in flavors like raspberry merlot, caliente brew ha habanero, and sweet tea lemon mint.
In the Company of Greatness
Let her know she’s larger than life with a trip to Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Independent Visions: Sculpture in the Garden (through October 31). Contemporary works by nine internationally acclaimed artists are some of the more massive pieces ever shown at the urban oasis.
Hit the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival for dinner events like Cream of the Crop (Thursday, 7 p.m., at Aria), celebrating the South’s harvest, and Shepherd to Chef (Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Empire State South), where renowned chefs pay homage to lamb farmers. Or book her for The Parting Bite: a Chorus of Greens (Sunday, 5 p.m.), hosted by Anne Quatrano and Linton Hopkins outside of Bacchanalia, JCT Kitchen, and Abattoir.
Brighten up her next book club with biodegradable napkin rolls (cocktail and dinner sizes) in eye-popping hues. She can chill with her guests while the icicle-like Corkcicle brings her 2006 pinot gris to the ideal temp (both available at Huff Harrington Home).
You’ll be the talk of the party.
