Though we love the moth-eaten afghan you sent yesterday, it wasn’t quite what we meant when we hinted at a gift with a vintage feel.
No need to send anything else: Daily Memorandum’s collection of lovingly worn objects is exactly what we have in mind.
Yes, the wooden crates and enamel bowls date further back than the bejeweled cardigans in your attic, but we think you’ll get nostalgic when you see apothecary bottles straight out of a 1930s general store.
The owners’ weakness for Pennsylvania-made objects explains the sun-faded feed sacks and overarching Americana theme; the duo counts quality as a factor (of course), but aesthetics win out every time.
Check back often for more unique finds (we have our eye on a printer’s cabinet); soon they’ll set up shop in a rehabbed Lebanon shirt factory.
Definitely something to write home about.
Available at RevivalSmith, 4233 Main Street, Manayunk (215-509-6550); at dailymemorandum.com, $4-$2,750.
