What do you get when you combine denim-washed chambray with the breezy insouciance of the 1960s French Riviera?
Brigitte Bardot in mom jeans? Wrong (and, frankly, disrespectful).
Try Atelier Delphine, a covetable line of loungewear by Pasadena-based designer Yuka Izutsu that takes its gamine-at-the-beach look from classic flicks like Bonjour Tristesse.
Previously exclusive to Beams (a.k.a. the Barneys of Japan), it’s now a click away on her online store and in select indie boutiques.
Spring’s aforementioned chambray collection includes bras, button-down blouses, and girly boxers; fall finds muses in stylish Silver Lake ladies like jewelry designer Kathryn Bentley with linen camis, striped trousers, and cotton tunics.
Each season Izutsu also creates an irresistible ruffled bloomer.
Expect to take a pair oui, oui, oui, all the way home.
Available at New High Mart, 1720 North Vermont Avenue, between Prospect and Kingswell Avenues, Los Feliz (323-638-0271 or newhighmart.com); Feal Mor, 165 South La Brea Avenue, between West First and West Second Streets, Mid-City (323-939-6600 or fealmor.com); at atelier-delphine.myshopify.com, $59-$435.
