Lighting Strikes

Good lighting? Always a plus. In fact, you’re pretty sure the romantic glow at Serrano had something to do with your latest love connection.

But now that you’re moving in together, there’s a problem: The ’70s showed up and vomited shag carpeting and a fluorescent glare all over your would-be love nest.

Good thing Artemide, the Milan-based lighting retailer, is  making its swanky chandeliers and lamps accessible to the public with discontinued showroom models marked down more than 50 percent. The sale continues until the last item goes, so head over ASAP. Pick up merchandise that day or have floor models packaged and shipped right to your door.

How good are the deals? The popular Calliope chandelier from the Musa suspension series, originally marked more than $1000, is $467.50.

Still pricey. But fixtures this nice could make you see even that carpet in a new light.

After all, you should never underestimate the value of a good shag.
