Get Your Kicks
Creative Recreation Sneakers

Couture inspires rhyming couplets. Trashy lingerie occasions limericks. But sneakers? Total haiku material. To wit:
Bright orange lace-ups,
Green with electric blue stripes,
My sneaks are pure love.
So slip on those worn-out Pumas for the last time and walk yourself to WTHN, a month-old men’s store that carries a whole mess of hard-to-find footwear for sneaker-fiend boys (and plus-size-footed girls), including designs by Creative Recreation and T-shirt line Undr Crwn. Those already set for shoes can browse exclusive clothing lines and toys (don’t miss the Reason Brand flask that says “Get Bent”).
The store’s kind of hidden in plain sight but given away by minimalist wooden floors and benches. The only decor? Pretty, pretty boys playing Madden ’06 on the PS2 in the front window.
It’s all so exciting, shoppers may have a bit of trouble distilling their enthusiasm down to a mere seventeen syllables.
But that’s okay. A little poetic license never really hurt anyone.
WTHN, 17 North Third Street (215-922-6030 or wthnphla.com).
