The Green Clean

Organic Dry Cleaning

Do not use around heat or open flame. Do not use in water. Not to be taken internally. Yeah, whatever. Labels are there to be ignored.

Except dry clean only. You’re not about to throw that $350 cashmere sweater in the wash (no matter what Woolite says).

Still. Dry cleaning may be good for clothes, but it’s horrid for the environment (and, given all the chemicals, your health). So how are you supposed to look good and stay green? Organic dry cleaning, a service available at a few (and hopefully many more) cleaners around town.

The solution used in organic dry cleaning is safe and biodegradable. Your favorite garments will last longer because no residue gets left behind. And unlike regular dry cleaning, organic prevents fading. (Really. What’s not to love?)

No nasty chemicals lurking in your sweater; no harmful chemicals creeping into the environment.

Here’s a label you’ll be happy to pay attention to: It’s the smart choice.

Available at Kim’s Cleaners, 414 South 20th Street (215-546-5595); Green Cleaners, 897 Southwest End Boulevard, Quakertown (215-538-1006).
