Emily Geddes Sewing Lessons

You plan to be the next Jay McCarroll (sans wacky beard). You work the bitchy attitude, dress to be seen, and pontificate about your genius (yet-to-be-created) clothing line.
One bump in the road: You can’t sew. If you really want to make the cut, you’d better learn to work a serger. How? From designer and seamstress Emily Geddes, who can guide the way through all things hot and seamy.
You provide the sewing machine, fabric scissors, thread, and feasible project idea. She comes to your house and tailors a private lesson plan based on your experience.
Beginners practice different stitches, work off patterns, and learn the language of construction. You’ll soon know the difference between French and Hong Kong seams — will eventually be able to make your own clothes.
What to do after you’ve conquered the needle and thread? There’s always America’s Next Top Model.
