Old and New

Seeing as you’re a creative type (or just wish you were), you can justify the piles of beads, baubles, and trimmings stashed all over the house.

You haven’t actually made anything yet, but you know one day that bag of acorns/bolt of fabric/box of teeth will come in handy.

That’s how it all started for Jody Sweitzer and her silver rings. The Philly designer finds vintage buttons collected from antique stores and hand-forges each to a sterling setting for an original piece of wearable art.

Since all of the jewelry is made of objects from decades past, there’s zero chance you’ll ever see the same item twice. Some buttons look like they were once attached to military garb or to grandma’s wool fisherman sweater; others look like they came off the elbow-patched, corduroy blazer that your dad wore in college. Every ring evokes a certain era and history, while reflecting your personality at the same time.

And the only space they’ll take up is on your finger.
