Topstitch Boutique Grand Opening

By now you’ve heard about tonight’s opening shindig at the new Topstitch boutique.
And you’re thinking: another day, another shop, another yawn.
But you’re wrong. All the slouchy-booted girls will faint. All the fashion boys will squeal. All the party crashers will get free drinks.
Because the airy store-cum-studio has all your Philly faves: screen-printed tees from EZLM, reconstructed vintage gear from Babooshka, and handcrafted jackets from Cholita by Linda Smyth. Jewelry by Julie Waring and ceramic mugs by Bethany Rusen will inspire you to redecorate yourself and your kitchen. Baby clothes from Kinked Works will turn kids into fashion accessories.
Another plus? The opening features an exhibition of works by photographer Isaac Schell depicting imagery of bars, churches, and beauty salons (those sin dens where you redeem yourself).
So check it out. And save your yawning for tomorrow morning.
Topstitch, 311 Market Street, second floor (267-322-4057). Tonight’s event starts at 6 p.m.
