Spring Fling

Spring: a time for striving. Birds endeavor to attract mates by fluffing their plumage, bees bumble about pollinating flowers, and older divorcees throw cash at uninterested, pretty young things.

Then again, some have innate powers of attraction.

Like anyone smart enough to wear Popomomo, Lizz Wasserman’s new spring collection of one-of-a-kind pieces. The tops, dresses, skirts, and tunics hang beautifully; garments are draped to fit every curve.

She aims for simplicity with unexpected details to create unique pieces. The pom-pom skirt in blue gingham is voluminous and breezy. V-neck tunics in green have a deconstructed feel with slashed necks and contrasting stitching. Plated jersey gives the illusion of soft silver on one side and gray heather on the other in a baby-doll dress.

All of which should inspire a new mantra for spring.

If at first you don’t succeed, try less hard.
