Saving Face

Summer Beauty Tutorial from Nives Riddles

you're glowing!

Summer makeup: Professional makeup artist Nives Riddles gets you ready for your closeup with five tips for applying the perfect summer face.

1. Get to the beach. Despite warnings of skin damage, the sun will dry out excess oils and even out your tone. (Please remember to wear sunscreen.) Don’t wimp out on swimming: Salt water acts as a natural exfoliant.

2. Choose a light, sheer foundation that balances out your color instead of covering it. Remember to go easy on the application.

3. Wear a bright matte color on the lips but skip the heavy eye makeup — just a coat of mascara will do.

4. On a lightly made-up face, brows can make or break your look. If you DIY, go back and forth between them, plucking only one hair at a time. Doing one before the other could leave you with two wildly different eyebrows. (Funny for others, not so much for you.)

5. Don’t overdo it with the brow pencil. Finishing with a colored brow gel will keep them groomed.

And you looking picture perfect.
