Sock Monkey Sculpted Cakes

Sock monkeys are so freakin’ cute you just want to eat them up.

But that would be crazy. (Imagine the indigestion.)

For those of you who still can’t curb your creepy cravings, Doylestown-based designer/baker Stephanie Mordan has made-to-order sculpted cakes in the shape of your favorite stuffed friends.

She initially got the idea when she created the sock monkeys for an artist’s 60th birthday, and things just kind of took off from there. The little guys (and all her cakes) are made from scratch, and the icings are made from ingredients like imported chocolates and seasonal fruits, so they taste as good as they look. Choose from a variety of flavors or let Mordan make up one for you.

She tests them all on her kids and friends, so you can rest assured they’re just as sweet as the real thing.
