Not to alarm you, but that chair in your room is depressed.
Which isn’t surprising, seeing as it’s covered in cast-off underwear and wet towels. It had its glory days long ago in granny’s parlor, covered in guests who wore fancy clothing.
It just needs a bit of a face-lift. Take that tired, old piece (or any others you’ve got moping around the house) to upholsterer/textile artist Lauren Rossi. A Cranbrook MFA, she designs her own upholstery — so the results are sure to be special.
After creating the artwork, which is inspired by nature and her own whimsical stories, she screen-prints it onto a heavy cotton-linen fabric blend, which then begins its new life on your chair, couch, or ottoman.
The whole process takes anywhere from two weeks to a month. But it’ll be worth it.
After all, that chair has been waiting for decades.
