At a Studstill

Hazel Studstill Jewelry

Talented people create impressive things from the most unlikely sources.

No, not like that toaster cozy of yours that became a hat that became a dishrag.

We’re talking about jewelry designer Hazel Studstill, who found her inspiration in such things as oil pipelines and being broke in Europe.

The Aligning Happiness collection is meant to illustrate the principle that happiness comes from within and not from material wealth (conceived by Studstill during a particularly lean time). Though, of course, it does feature pearls and semiprecious stones like peridot. Her Pipeline necklace, inspired by the oil pipeline that runs from Texas to Washington, D.C., is a tubular piece of sterling offset by a single white sapphire, which looks remarkably similar to a diamond (without the hefty price).

Alchemy? Not quite.

But we suspect you’ll be impressed all the same.
