Covering up isn’t really fashionable in celeb culture these days.
(Hence all the head-shaving and privates-baring.)
So it’s probably best that Catherine Cifonelli looked to old Hollywood for inspiration for her new reupholstering shop, Behind Closed Doors.
A former fashion designer, Cifonelli breathes glamour into old furniture by recovering them in retro textiles. With an irreverent approach, she might slap a coat of red paint and a swath of leopard-print fabric onto a tired chair. Or maybe pair lemony yellow and a few yards of chinoiserie-inspired upholstery on that lowly flea market find. She even sells new and vintage homewares to go with your newly updated pieces.
Hesitant about dropping some dough? A portion of the proceeds benefit victims of domestic violence.
Just another reason we think Cifonelli’s a leading lady.
