Getting a haircut is like playing hot potato. Only you’re the potato.

You get tossed around between stylists then booted out the door, wondering what just happened to your head.

If that doesn’t suit, make an appointment with Alex Molchadskiy. After eight years as a stylist at Peter Coppola and working as a partner at The Studio C.L., he’s branched out on his own with the new AMS Salon & Lounge.

The Rittenhouse Square stylist promises a hands-on approach in an upscale, bilevel salon. The first floor is a waiting area where you can connect to the Net if you’re on lunch or have a mimosa if you don’t have that type of job. Upstairs, Molchadskiy will give you his signature dry cut, and Jennifer Luszczak will freehand some highlights.
