Rainbows. Tandem bicycles. Humongous beards. Until now, you thought these things went together only in Fishtown.

Well, meet James Ulmer, a local artist who not only uses facial hair and bikes in daily conversation, but also features them quite a bit in his imaginative and whimsical illustrations.

A seesaw here, a giant mustachioed head there. There’s really no telling what sort of wonderfully odd creation Ulmer will come up with next. Regardless, we’re convinced you’ll want to pick something up for the old homestead this summer.

So cruise around his website to ogle his original gems.
