A DailyCandy mom invented this drink recipe in 1984 in an apartment in Jersey City. We’re sure she had way more fun than she let on.
1984 Eggnog
Serves ten to fifteen
Ingredients
1 dozen eggs, separated
1 c. honey
1 fifth peach or apricot brandy
2 qts. heavy cream
1. Beat egg yolks, honey, and half of the brandy in a large mixing bowl and let sit for fifteen minutes.
2. Stir in heavy cream and remainder of brandy.
3. In a small mixing bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
4. Fold the egg whites into the brandy mixture.
5. Pour into punch bowl and sprinkle with nutmeg.
6. Put on festive music, raise a glass, and party like it’s 1984.
