Miss Manners

If Emily Post knew what you wore to your first job interview, she’d turn over in her grave. (Daintily while keeping her legs crossed, of course.)

Perhaps it’s time to brush up on matters of comportment. Sonia Forcina’s interview etiquette classes will help you mind your p’s and q’s, even if you’re not riding the locomotive to layoffville.

Forcina, who’s kind of a local manners guru, teaches you to impress the boss without looking like you’re trying. She goes over interview protocol like timeliness (are you actually late if you show up on time?), image (does anyone care about your highly cultivated sense of style?), and mannerisms (how to introduce yourself). She’ll also role-play so you can practice listening — a vastly underrated aspect of proper etiquette.

Just remember to send her a thank-you note.
