McLovin’ from the Oven

Your Valentine’s celebrations seem to have cooled down considerably. Warm things up with an easy, G-rated recipe from Plate’s pastry chef, Angela Tustin.

Five-Ingredient Chocolate Truffle Brownies
Makes 24 small brownies

Ingredients
11 oz. semisweet chocolate
14 oz. butter
7 eggs
2½ c. sugar
1¼ c. all-purpose flour

1. Preheat oven to 300°.

2. Melt butter and pour over chopped chocolate. Whisk until smooth.

3. Mix together sugar and eggs with an electric mixer. Once combined, slowly stir in chocolate and butter mixture.

4. Gently fold in flour until batter is smooth.

5. Bake in a greased pan (9-by-13) for approximately 25 minutes or until set.

6. When cool, cut and decorate with crushed candies or icing.

As for the whipped cream? Save it for later.
