Home Sweet Home

Cottage Antiques Opens

Your new neighbor is loud, messy, and definitely to blame for the rodent in your apartment. (He may, in fact, be Satan.)

Antique Row’s newest tenant, on the other hand, is heaven-sent.

Previously selling furniture wholesale in New York, owners John Krynick and Francis Nestor have opened their first Philly-based store, Cottage, in Hello World’s former spot. They’ve hunted treasures along the East Coast for more than twenty years, so expect amazing finds.

The sunny shop carries an eclectic mix of antiques and furniture with offbeat accents like Peruvian textiles and sculpture from Easter Island. Mint jazz-era end tables; cozy, decades-old leather wing chairs; or framed 19th-century American oil paintings will turn your living room into a showroom.

The pair aims to energize Pine Street as a destination for design.

Making it a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Cottage, 1201 Pine Street (215-546-2112 or cottagecamp.com).
