Oma Goodness Gracious

Oma Vintage Clothing Boutique Opens

Used clothing falls into two categories: moth-eaten-and-a-million-dollars or giant McDonald’s T-shirt.

Can’t a girl catch a break?

Today you can, with the opening of Ada Egloff’s Oma Vintage. Once a proprietor of an Etsy shop, Egloff has a new brick-and-mortar space (in the formerly odd toy shop in Northern Liberties) with a treasure trove from decades past.

She stocks men’s and women’s styles from the ’30s to the ’90s, including Sonia Rykiel from the ’70s, Cynthia Rowley from the ’80s, Ferragamo from the ’60s, and a range of Whiting & Davis bags. And you won’t be lost for accessories: Retro jewelry will soon join handbags and shoes.

And Egloff wants to give back: The guy and girl sporting the best vintage outfits at her opening party tonight each win a gift certificate to the shop and a Print Liberation tote.

And make secondhand first-rate.

Oma Vintage, 716 North Third Street (267-687-5959 or omavintage.com). Opening party tonight, 7-10 p.m.
