This Thursday, you could cook a meal inspired by a movie inspired by a blog inspired by a cookbook while Tweeting about it (ooh, so meta). Or follow this recipe for head-spinning weekend success:
Recipe for Porkchop Gallery
1 brand new Fishtown project space
2 floors in the renovated warehouse dedicated to local and up-and-coming artists
3 hours of debauchery (set aside to celebrate opening)
$5 entrance fee
1 cup bottomless beer
1. Heavily marinate all ingredients in the musings of owners Robert Aiosa and Sky Blanchard.
2. Preheat gallery by hanging the paintings of Jenn Procacci and the graphic comics of James Comey.
3. Install hanging trapeze, upon which the multitalented Beth Beverly will perform (surrounded by her own taxidermy).
4. Add a generous helping of music provided by Kurt Hunte of Plastic Little. Spin vigorously until people can’t help but dance.
5. Sprinkle in arts and crafts prizes to taste.
Bon appétit.
Porkchop, 1536 North American Street (porkchop215@gmail.com). Opening party, Thursday, 7-10 p.m.
