When Rae closed, you were disappointed. When Gayle was shuttered, distraught.
But you’ve heard it said you can’t keep a good man down (at least, not for long).
So celebrate Daniel Stern’s return to the stove with MidAtlantic Restaurant & Tap Room, opening today. His rustic, industrial resto is an homage to authentic, hearty Pennsylvania Dutch cooking that runs rings around other comfort food.
Try the crab scrapple sandwich served on a potato roll with fries. It comes in a square block, just like real scrapple (whatever that is). Stern’s also making summer sausage, bratwurst, and cured meats in house. Roast chicken with lima bean polenta and brown gravy will keep you warm this winter.
Finish up with the dreamy butterscotch bread pudding, which may send you into a food coma.
But that’s your cross to bear.

I went to this restaurant and had a really relaxing, fun time. The bartenders were really great company and made some awesome suggestions. The specialty cocktails here were like nowhere else I've ever tried. Definitely try the pig wings and the Rarebit Fondue!
