Designer: Paul & Joe at Carrousel du Louvre
References: The spring/summer collection from one of our favorite Parisian lines actually hinted at American influences with cowboy hats and boots (yee-haw), long cotton skirts with eyelet details, and floral dresses to make you look like a country-western sweetheart.
Duly Noted: Up the menswear ante with black blazers and big bow blouses.
Designer: Alexandra Cassaniti at Paris Showroom
References: The California girl’s spring line is inspired by all things sustainable and local (besides the airfare). Gauzy cheesecloth T-shirts and tanks come with a pack of handcrafted, iron-on patches for the crafter in you.
Duly Noted: Sky blue neoprene bikinis make wet suits look all dried up.
Designer: Mary Ping at Paris Showroom
References: Slow and Steady Wins the Race showcased a nostalgic archive of trends from the recent past — chic takes on the sweatshirt, cotton tanks with played-up seams, fabric bags meant to mock Gucci or Hermès power purses, and water-repellent Mary Janes.
Duly Noted: Eveningwear goes street with cummerbund fanny packs and clutches made from full-length gloves.
