When your dad is Tom (as in “of Maine”), high expectations are natural.
And organic, too. Luke Chappell is doing for weekday meals what Dad did for brushing teeth: He’s going green.
Luke’s Local, Chappell’s breakfast and lunch joint at the Hillsdale Caltrain station, has just launched meal boxes, a combo of fresh-from-the-farm organic produce and Luke’s seasonal prepared meals. Think red curry yellowtail tataki, slow-roasted Thai pork and shrimp salad, and spring vegetarian paella made by a different Bay Area chef each week.
There’s even a version of a late-night burrito that won’t make you hate yourself in the morning. And a little extra dough gets you a bag of Blue Bottle Coffee beans.
It appears the apple doesn’t fall far from the toothpaste.
