Venga Empanadas Opens on Valencia Street

The Best $3.50 You'll Ever Spend

venga empanadas san francisco!

Mission burritos should be shaking in their tortillas.

Valencia’s latest unveil delivers a similarly portable pocket of goodness, though this package originates farther south of the border. Venga Empanadas brings Argentine-style snacks to the hood today.

Chef and owner Manuel Godino hails from Spain, but his culinary prowess comes from years of training in Buenos Aires. You may have tried his treats at Stable Cafe or Heart, but now they’re served sunup to sundown (7:30 a.m. ’til 10 p.m. on weekdays) at a brick-and-mortar casa devoted to the tasty pastries.

Choose from classics (Argentine beef, gaucho chicken) or veg out with five pepper and manchego cheese, California veggie, or three cheese and walnut. The $3.50 price tag means you can (and should) try them all.

Go get stuffed.

Venga Empanadas, 443 Valencia Street, between 15th and 16th Streets (415-410-8300 or vengaempanadas.com).
