Our advice: Trust your motherly instinct — and trust us. Here’s a list of our all-time favorite items for you, your kidlets, and raising a family in San Francisco.
Maclaren Volo Buggy
It’s is the Hummer of lightweight umbrella strollers ($130). Sturdy enough to withstand uphill treks even when you’re not, it’s light enough that should a bus come along you can hop on without help.
BabyLegs Leg Warmers
Tuck a pair of the whimsical leg warmers ($12) into your diaper bag and, as the day takes you from sunny to cloudy, pull them on over her pants without even unclipping her stroller buckle.
Green Toys Sand Play Set
These are sand toys ($22) you’ll want to write your name on in permanent marker. Sturdier than something from the dime store, the sweet-looking sets are made from recycled plastic.
The dish ($14) has a recessed, overhanging lip (inspired by the arc of an ocean wave) that molds each bite to the spoon, which means self-feeding is an exercise in success, rather than mess.
They are workhorses ($14) that don’t spill (ever!) and require the kind of oral dexterity (a bite-and-suck action) that intrigues the thirsty of any age.
We’ve got more. Check out all our favorite finds for bedtime, playtime, and bathtime.
