The company has taken the same no-fuss, ecofriendly philosophy behind its celebration-in-a-box party kits and applied it to customized showers and bashes in its Palo Alto storefront. All you have to do is choose a DIY project — from felting wool sweaters to fairy-house-making with reusable and sustainable materials.

Bright decorations, fancy favors (twig pencils, finger puppets, and feed tins filled with seeds), and festive eats are coordinated by the staff. After the celebration, you can buy the party linens (a cloth runner and bunting) and repurpose them.

After all, everything from Acme is designed to be upcycled. And that’s no running gag.
