Little Vine Packs a Big Punch

North Beach's New Artisan Market

little vine san francisco!

That game you used to play on long road trips went something like, “I’m going on a picnic and I’m going to bring …”

We’ll finish that for you: “… everything you can squeeze into your vintage, rental picnic basket from adorable artisan market Little Vine.” The tiny gourmet shop from the owners of Drink Cocktail Catering opens today in North Beach.

The 300-square-foot space is a throwback to old-world European grocery stores, with floor-to-ceiling shelves (and a handy rolling ladder) stocked with locally made craveables (Bicycle Coffee, 479° Popcorn) and foodie mainstays (TCHO chocolates, Soul Food Farm eggs), plus charming, salvaged-wood crates filled with produce from Full Belly Farm.

Peruse the chalkboard menu for seasonal sandwiches and Three Twins Ice Cream flavors. And, yes, there are darling picnic baskets for rent, which Little Vine grocers will stuff with West Coast cheese and quality salumi.

Swing by this weekend for Spot bagels and fresh pastries (and very soon, small-batch wine).

No drinking and driving.
