Texts and Tweets Made Modern Art

novel poster!

With all this SOPA talk, it’s hard to know where allegiances lie.

If you’re equally torn between tomes and tweets, look no further than NovelPoster.

The SF-based Kickstarter project combines visual and pop culture in poster-size portions to serve as both contemporary art and conversation piece.

The newly launched site showcases art as words or words as art, depending on how you see it, but the concept is simple: Entire (readable) texts of acclaimed novels (hello, The Great Gatsby and Alice in Wonderland) and Twitter feeds from today’s icons (@StephenAtHome — a.k.a. Stephen Colbert) are carefully arranged on a poster in black and white silhouettes. The inspired shapes (a lover’s embrace from Pride & Prejudice, @KanyeWest’s iconic shades) set the tone for beautiful, modern wall art.

Word on the street is that Twitter HQ has one.
