This is a courtesy email to inform you that Claudine restaurant opens on Claude Lane today. You may experience a dip in your businesses. Do not be alarmed.
You simply cannot compete with chef Bridget Batson’s (Gitane) global shared plates (cured sardines, baked calamari), satisfying mains (spice-rubbed chicken, olive oil-poached albacore), and fresh seafood at the five-seat crudo bar. Those pressed for time can choose from a smattering of to-go options from the refrigerated pantry. The circular wooden bar (adjacent to a handsome floral mural) tempts with local, affordable sips, all under $10 a glass.
Regretfully, there’s more: Gourmet groceries (house-made agua fresca, Frog Hollow jam, TCHO chocolates), cookbooks, and utensils provide a curated quickie for last-minute gift givers.
