Test Your Restaurant Concept in Rockridge

the guest chef!

You’ve popped over pop-ups, descended into underground dining, and trucked it to food trucks. So what now?

Stay ahead of the culinary curve with Guest Chef, a kitchen incubator where anyone from celebri-chef to Grandma can take the helm. All you need to snag a spot is a love of cooking (although, being good helps).

Apply online for a two-week gig, then wait patiently to bring your concept to life in the twenty-seat space (it’s booked through January). BYO groceries; everything else, including the kitchen sink (and hostess, sound system, cashier, dishwasher, and liquor license), is included. There’s even an impressive equipment list to play with.

If the fire’s too hot, don’t mess with the kitchen. Take a seat instead: Concepts and cuisine vary by chef, so the menu changes at least biweekly (from Spanish paella to carne alla grillia).

No matter who’s wearing the apron, it’s a good deal.
