Hayes Valley Staycation Carnival Game
What: The carny folk at Straw want you to play with your food. Make your masterpiece on a blank face plate; then take a photo and have it posted to Facebook, where the work is judged. The photo with the most likes or comments wins, and a runner-up prize goes to the best caption (winners are announced in February).
Why: Prizes include dinner at Straw, dessert at Smitten Ice Cream, tickets to the San Francisco Symphony or Rickshaw Stop, and a night at a Hayes Valley hotel.
