Morrone Mondays at Hog & Rocks
What: Uber chef George Morrone (Aqua, Fifth Floor) kicks off weekly four-course dinners at the Mission’s local bivalve and bacon haven for a culinary meeting of high-end and casual.
Why: Fried oyster with prosciutto crisp, mussels with chorizo, and pork tender with apple butter cure any case of the Mondays.

North Beach’s Whiskey Cocktail Competition
What: Four mixologists from some of the hood’s best bars (Bottle Cap, 15 Romolo, Campanula, Txoko) compete to make the most original rye whiskey cocktail inspired by their stomping grounds; attendees cast their votes with the bottle caps they receive upon entry.
Why: Whiskey Wednesday happy hour specials until 7 p.m. and the live jazz that follows.
