Lately, the bar scene has you feeling out of your element.
Take it up a notch, channel your inner Dude, and abide over six lanes of glory at Mission Bowling Club, softly opening this week. The 8,000-square-foot warehouse is an entertainment trifecta: a bowling alley, restaurant, and bar.
Park your bike within the gated entry, spruced up with a pin-shaped tower and rusted steel MBC initials denoting the fun inside. Reserve three of the six lanes beneath an epic mural (by Andrew Shoultz and Andres Guerrero) for an evening of cocktail-fueled shit-talking and killer food — Anthony Myint (Mission Chinese Food, Commonwealth) entices with hearty snacks (everything pretzel with lardo mustard), his famous Mission Burger, and themed creations (food on a stick, like corn dogs and fried chicken).
Gutter ballers can sulk on tufted leather couches, check out the rotating art gallery, retreat to the outdoor patio, or overlook the action from the mezzanine.
Mission Bowling Club, 3176 17th Street, between Shotwell Street and South Van Ness Avenue (415-863-2695 or missionbowlingclub.com). Hours are limited to 6 to 11 p.m. through March 26.
