Cuyana Launches Indian Accessories

Global goods to quench your wanderlust

If we had to pick three things that get our heart thumping, they might be traveling, an epic accessory, and acts of kindness (we cry at commercials, okay?).

Karla Gallardo and Shilpa Shah win us over by combining all three with Cuyana (meaning “to love” in Quechua, the Andean tribal language).

The pair travels the world sourcing fine materials native to a specific country, then they work with local craftsmen to create one-of-a-kind, limited-edition accessories that celebrate that community’s heritage. Each collection is dedicated to a different place (woven panama hats from Ecuador, alpaca shawls from the Peruvian Andes).

Their latest journey leads to India with oversize leather sequin clutches, stainless steel bangles, jute and steel necklaces, and silk scarves. A percentage of the profits goes to Charity: Water, which provides access to safe drinking water for those who don’t have it.

What’s not to love?

Available at cuyana.com, $65-$195.
