When we heard the Mission’s new Farina Pizza & Cucina Italiana imported a brick oven that turns out bubbly, Naples-style pies in less than a minute, we spontaneously broke out in song (to the tune of Rent’s “Seasons of Love”).

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
six hundred pizzas,

pizzas so dear,
so many thin crusts we’ll joyously help disappear.

In tomatoes (San Marzano), in cheese (fior di latte mozz), in basil,
In cups of vino,
In marble, in white leather, in a roomful of light.

In pesto, in skirt steak, in grilled swordfish,
In cappuccino,
In panna cotta.

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred pizzas.
That’s how many Farina
Could make in a year.

It’s time now to dine out.
Again and again.
