Walking into a room of people whispering about chain mail, corset gowns, and Dungeons & Dragons is confusing. Are we at a Renaissance Fair? Or in an episode of The Big Bang Theory? No, just backstage at Rodarte’s spring collection.
Makeup artist James Kaliardos for Nars focused on skin care with layers of hydrating toner, Brightening Concentrate, and Total Replenishing eye cream. He dabbed concealer down the center of the face, then brushed on light pink blush in Sex Appeal and sheer eyeshadow in Himalayas. Clear Triple X lipgloss on eyebrows, lids, and lips added a radiant glow.
Hair guru Odile Gilbert and stylists from Kérastase smoothed on Fibre Architecte before flat ironing. They made a part across the back of the head and pulled all hair from left to right for an illusion of a shaved side. Then they piled Exilir Ultime oil on top and finished with hair spray for a wet, shiny appearance.
Michele Huynh and a team of CND nail artists created the lattice fingertip toppers with a base of Desert Suede mixed with Frosting Cream, followed by Super Shiney top coat. On wax paper they spread a blend of the first two colors and Chocolate Milk, added a matte top coat, and let it dry overnight. Then they cut strips and applied one to each nail.
