Trick Dog Is Shady Business

There's no place like Pantone

trick dog!

With all the ways a bar can color you bad (gratuitous lighting, awkward playlist), it’s easy to get painted into a corner.

Step out of the rut and into Trick Dog, a new bar opening in the Mission this week. Helmed by The Bon Vivants, the space goes above and beyond its intent to become the hood’s welcoming watering hole.

Retreat upstairs (we’re sold on the stunning pink floor) for a proper spot to mull over drink options inspired by the Pantone guide. Pennies from Heaven — Templeton Rye, Amaro Meletti, Leopold Brothers Sour Apple Liqueur, amontillado sherry, and The Bon Vivants Gold Rush Bitters — is what we imagine the treasure at the end of the rainbow tastes like.

Trick Dog’s playful color schemes and thoughtful touches (lights sourced from the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, shade-cutter sconces) are instant conversation starters.

Like a Magic Eye puzzle, you’ll spy something new every time.

After all, when in chrome.
