Pencil In Date Night at Aliment

Here’s what’s good in the neighborhood

Your addictions (fast food, tweeting, refreshing your inbox every twelve seconds) run deep.

Slow down with dinner at Aliment. The new Nob Hill restaurant is like a Lifetime movie for your stomach.

Eric Rud (Nob Hill Grille) and Matt Sullivan (Blue Plate) take an elevated yet unpretentious approach to comfort food; the interior follows suit: With high ceilings, an open kitchen, and indie playlists, it feels like your BFF’s modern SoMa loft.

Nestle into a front booth for seared diver scallops with grilled nectarine, pea shoots, and chili oil. Go splitsies on the chopped kale salad with avocado and anchovy dressing or the hanger steak (crunchy black rice, charred escarole, gobo puree, spring onion chimichurri). For dessert, we advise veering fruity (the plum crisp is tops).

There’s also weekend brunch.

Just give yourself plenty of time to digest.

Aliment, 786 Bush Street, between Mason and Powell Streets (415-829-2737).
