Food for Thought: Local Mission Market

Gourmet groceries delivered to your door

Recently opened Local Mission Market is SF’s answer to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

House-made creme fraiche, mascarpone, yogurt, and goat’s milk ricotta beckon from the dairy aisle. Glistening fruits and veggies pop from produce boxes. And the bulk section (beans, dried fruits, whole grains, the like) is beyond your wildest dreams.

All items are prepared in-house (pickles, jams, condiments, pastas) by Local Mission Market’s culinary team or sourced from within a 90-mile radius (sustainable fish caught in local waters, fruits and veggies).

Can’t make the trip in person? This month, the market rolls out its new to-go service. Sign up for a membership online, and arrange for easy pickup or delivery. New foods, produce, and bulk items are added daily. Wines from Local Cellar Wine and Spirits are on the horizon.

Go on — you’ve got the golden ticket.
