SF Independent Film Festival
The Roxie, Brava, and New Parkway Theatres host the most interesting and cutting-edge films of 2014.
Why: Check out The Congress, about an aging actress taking one last job, and Rezeta, the story of a jet-setting model who might finally want to settle down.

Modern Nature: Georgia O’Keeffe and Lake George
Known for her desert landscapes, O’Keeffe was just as inspired by her stays in verdant Lake George, New York, the subject of this landmark show.
Why: The 55 works range from panoramic views to up-close studies of vegetables and leaves.

From blogger to restaurateur: Pim Techamuanvivit’s new restaurant showcases the flavors of her native Thailand.
