Candy is dandy. But liquor is quicker. An accepted truth, to be sure. But jeweler Lauri Levenfeld asks the all-important question: Why not have both? In her new jewelry line, Jack and Candy, Jack (for Jack Daniels) represents rock-and-roll edge, while Candy stands for all things pretty and feminine. The result is a dazzling line which spans the spectrum from sugary sweetness to bad-ass cool. Pieces made from chains, feathers, leather, and other materials have chick-rocker names like Christina (an onyx, crystal, and silver necklace) and Fiona (a three-strand bracelet of red pearls set in fourteen-karat gold); those made from precious gems are named for sweets — like Honey (a pearl-and-citrine choker) and Confection (a lariat of pearls, quartz, and silver). Go on — wear one for day, another for evening. Lauri understands that most girls like a bit of both. Because we’ve all had our share of Jack and candy.
